Hello 2014!
Just a rundown from Movitas on the past year: We had a busy 2013, doing things like supporting Familias Unidas por la Justicia (local berry pickers in their struggles against unfair bosses for better wages and working conditions), marching against Monsanto, and traveling to the BAM! (Bands Agitate and Mobilize) gathering in Toronto, Ontario, where several radical street bands from the US and Canada held skillshares, workshops and collaborated on a street action in support of the Grassy Narrows First Nation in their fight for justice around past (and potential future) environmental destruction of their community. Thanks to folks who contributed to help us defray travel costs.
We’ll be at the MLK Day March on Monday, Jan 20th. Come and join us in the streets, and hope to see you in the streets more in 2014!
